SOCAR to sign new agreement on expanding Georgian gas network

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will expand its presence in the Georgian gas sector. SOCAR Georgia Gas will signed a new agreement with the Georgian government to expand Georgia's gas supply network, abc.az reports.The 3-year agreement has already been initialled. It will increase the investments of SOCAR Georgia Gas to $250 million and the number of clients to 250,000. The new agreement will need about $25 million in investments in 2015.

Special NATO envoy visits Georgia

 Special Envoy of the NATO Secretary General for the South Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai will make a two-day visit to Georgia on December 3, News Georgia reports.Appathurai will meet with members of the Georgian government, opposition and heads of international organizations.

Georgian ex-minister for economy dies

Kakha Bendukidze, a Georgian ex-minister for economy and a businessman, has died at a London hotel at the age of 58. He underwent surgery in Switzerland two weeks ago, Interfax reports.Bendukidze had been doing business in Russia for 20 years since the 1980s. He was the director general of the United Engineering Factories at that time.In 2004, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili appointed him as the minister for economy.
